In May 2007, the Bulgarian branch of WWF published on its website an article, intended for purchasers of property or land to build on in Bulgaria. The article, entitled “Buyer, beware! How to buy a property in Bulgaria and not destroy the country’s nature”, contains information about the hazards and difficulties that a foreign investor, coming to the country for the first time, could encounter.
Owning a piece of land in Bulgaria looks like a brilliant opportunity “to invest little and get profits quickly”, the article said. “Lower prices of land and the opportunity of higher prices with the EU accession have lured many to buy inexpensive property and either sell it or rent it later,” the piece continued.

The coastal municipality of Tsarevo has called for the introduction of a two-year construction ban in Strandzha natural reserve to stave off over-construction on the southern Black Sea coast.
The municipality has proposed that there be a new delimitation of the borders of the park and the introduction of a management plan for the park, Pari daily said.

Turkey has the most attractive real estate market in Europe, said the Property Guide.
According to the Property Guide, the Turkish economy has grown thanks to many reforms by the government and as such the real estate market boomed.

Lance Nelson, Managing Director of Jet2Let, takes a look at the Bulgarian real estate market six months on from EU accession from his base in Sofia and tells investors to “be selective”.
“Six months on from EU entry and analysing Bulgaria’s property market presents a number of difficulties, the most obvious being the lack of reliable data so I would again advise buyers to look out for announcements on improved access to areas. The recent announcement on two new underground train extensions, including a line from Mladost district to Sofia airport, are the sort of thing that can drive prices as well as new low cost airline routes. The theme for 2007 is the need to be selective.
