SWEDEN’s evergreen political parties divide over EU’s climate strategy

After 12 long years in opposition, an alliance of four non-Socialist political parties unseated Göran Persson’s Social Democratic government last September. Headed by the youthful Fredrik Reinfeldt, who leads the alliance’s foremost party, the Conservative Moderate Coalition Party, which also achieved its greatest success to date.
